The menu is driven by software that enhances the usability of the menu options as well as the various keyboard one touch programmable keys. The built in PIN pad can be activated by any merchant service provider but it first has to be encrypted to be active. The smart card reader can be used alone with PIN based transactions to increase security.
The type of network communication done by the 3000 is both asynchronous and synchronous which will allow merchants to process multiple cards for a better processing experience. The 3000 comes with the printer already attached to the device and utilizes thermal printing technology. Merchants who are not familiar with the machine can easily replace the paper roll and doing this is pretty easy as it has an automatic feed function to reduce errors. The LCD screen uses high contract display. The card read is dual and supports dual track.
