The Ingenico 7780 (i7780) is a really nice and easy to use credit card processing machine. It has short range wireless processing features which uses Bluetooth wireless communication connectivity and is ideal for merchants who want to present a payment option to customers at their seat without the customer having to come to the countertop to checkout. This is referred to as “Pay at the Table” because the customer can stay seated while completing a business transaction. This is great for restaurants and other multi payment processing businesses. It has a range of 300ft radius from the base. The Ingenico 7780 also comes as a combo that merchants can purchase with a base.
The Ingenico i7780 is the portable version of the terminal. It has several modes of communication methods that can easily be integrated into any retail or restaurant setting. The 7780 comes with a small light battery packet that can last about 10 or more hours on a complete charge. The radio frequency options are enhanced 433 MHz or Bluetooth as mentioned above. When small business owners connect via Bluetooth, they will find that the device can communicate with their printer, bar code scanners and computer/laptop, etc.
The 7780 has a type of sleek modern look to it, complete with a nice looking keypad that lights up the keys and the LCD display screen. With the future in mind, Ingenico designed the machine to be adoptable to new payment technology and the device is equipped to accept Chip and PIN based debit cards which is RMV compliant with a 2.45 GHz technology. There are several external accessories and devices that is supported with in i7780 such as PDA, and mobile phones.
Merchant have the option of high speed connection via Ethernet port or dial up via a telephone line or both. Due to the speed of the 7780, the overall time it takes for a transaction to complete is significantly reduced. Merchant who are interested in other payment types will be glad that almost every payment type is supported: PIN based debit and check card transactions, credit card transactions, rewards cards, EBT, international credit cards, gift cards and customer loyalty incentive programs, etc. Some of the benefit of using the 7780 is that merchants can have up to 7 or 8 terminals from a single installation off the base. When the battery runs low, the screen will remind merchants with the built in signal indicator.
